A few nights ago Damon and I attended The Art of Fashion and Dance that was held at the Amora Ballroom in San Antonio. In preparation for our upcoming wedding (!!!!!!), Damon and I decided to start taking swing dance lessons as, for some reason totally unknown to us, swing dancing will be part of our wedding theme. Neither of us have ever danced before nor set foot in any type of ballroom or had any type of dance lesson before yet we made DANCE a HUGE part of the wedding.
I know.
What were we thinking?
Well it turns out that we’ve had tons of fun learning how to Balboa and East Coast swing via lessons from SA Swing Dance Society. Our lessons are actually taken at the Amora Ballroom and that’s where we learned about the Fashion & Dance show. Damon took some fashion photos and I took some photos of the dancing. Ever since picking up the camera for the first time a couple years ago, I have wanted to shoot dancers because they are so graceful and every move demands to be captured. I finally got my wish
I would have preferred better lighting (it was really dark in that ballroom – thank you Lord for our D700!!) but after a bit of tweaking I was able to pull out some photos![]()

Swing dancing!!!

Sexy rumba:

We’re not great at our own dancing yet but we are definitely starting to move in the right direction! Maybe one day Damon will finally agree to learn how to Argentine Tango with me… we’ll see!!
