Seattle & Pike’s Place Market

I think if I could be anything in the entire world I would be a marine biologist.

For one, I love water. I love drinking it, swimming in it, playing it in, and everything else. I love all sea life and can watch Discovery Channel and Animal Planet until my eyes fall out. The deep sea is really what fascinates me and any and all deep sea fish will have me watching or reading and trying to soak in as much information as I can.

Unfortunately, a brain for science I do NOT have. I will just say that the only two classes I barely squeaked by in all of college was Biology 1 and 2 which I saved for my senior year because I was deathly afraid of that class. Biology and I do not get along; I don’t understand chemical stuff and everything that’s behind science. Science scares me and hey, I was raised on Bill Nye the Science Guy.

Fortunately, however, I love love love love, couldn’t imagine being without, being creative. I have a strong music background and I’m a photographer and a graphic designer. Merge these two loves together and you definitely come up with the stunning city of Seattle (sure brought that one around, huh?).

When I think “Seattle” my mind automatically goes to Pike’s Place. I could not WAIT to go see and take pictures while there. I love staring at dead sea things at the supermarket. Crazy, kinda. When I worked at Red Lobster I would take the lobster out of the tank myself and if I had time I’d split and clean it myself. What can I say – sea life fascinate me. Not only is Seattle rich with dead sea creatures to take photos of (lol), it is an unbelievable dream locale for photography. The city is gorgeous and very urban and I spotted, oh, minimum of 383903283 different places I would have LOVED to do a portrait shoot. One of my very favorite photographers is based out of Seattle and I could see how she gets the variety in scenery. Everything about that places screams photography.

Here are some of my favorites from Seattle.

Now it’s time to give a HUGE THANKS to our tour guides during the trip!!!
In Vancouver Damon and I stayed with my brother-in-law’s brother and his wife. Basically my sister married a guy from Vancouver, so, his family. Hannah and Jeremy so graciously opened their home for us to stay in the four days we spent in Vancouver. They went way above and beyond what they needed to do and we are so grateful that they gave us the Van tour and took us around to so many awesome places and to the BEST SUSHI RESTAURANT ON THIS PLANET. We are spoiled for life.

Thanks guys for toting around two frozen Texans!!:)

For the Seattle part of the trip we met up with Amy and Chris. I know Amy through my sister (same one) and facebook. We finally got to meet face-to-face, as well as her husband Chris, and they gave us an all day tour of their city. We drove all around the city, picked up some coffee (of course), awesome cupcakes, and saw a troll living under the highway bridge. They took us down to Ivar’s (which has AMAZING salmon btw) and the Piers. All in all a very busy day!!

Thank you guys so much for being so generous with your time that day!! We really enjoyed getting to know you both and seeing your gorgeous city!!
