the workout queen

Kirsten was the last of the group to go. She’s definitely one of the sweetest women you’ll ever meet and I’m lucky to hang with her at the gym!! If there’s a yoga, body pump, spin, or attack class then you’re sure to find her working out!

for the man in uniform

Deb was the next one to go and let me tell you what – this woman is a trouper!! On the way up to the room she stubbed her toe and was in a lot of pain. During the shoot she hobbled around and refused to pose without her heels on. It was even her idea to climb into the TV console in heels to get a shot she really wanted (which I think turned out really well!)!!! It wasn’t until the following morning when she went to the doctor that she was told she had broken her toe. Yes, broken. She had worked through all the pain for her photos and kept an amazing attitude despite all that pain, and I think her hard work that day really paid off!

the trainer in the group

Kristi was the second one to go in the group. Can you believe she’s a mother of three??! That’s what chasing kids around and teaching boot camp classes will do to you! Make sure you check out her fitness website!

a boudoir session sounds like fun

Last summer I participated in a boudoir shoot that a friend’s wedding photographer offered up. The whole experience was really amazing – we had a hair stylist, makeup artist, and all the clothes we had chosen for that very special shoot. In the back of my mind I thought putting together my own boudoir session would be great fun, but it would have to wait awhile as I hadn’t even shot a real session yet.

This last January my friend Stephanie asked me if I would want to get a boudoir session together and then the ball was rolling…I wanted to wait til the summer so I had time to practice my lighting and get stronger in posing skills. My fiance works with models and makeup artists and I thought what would be more fun than going into that world for a little bit…have a girls night at a hotel with drinks, Jennifer the (AMAZING!!!) makeup artist and hair stylist, clothes out the wazoo, and Stephanie using her mad styling skills to help pull everything together.

We set a date, time, and location and with tons of things in tow and set up, I began my first boudoir session. I am going to make this a 4-part series with the other three girls following in the next three days.

Here are my favorites of Stephanie!

Boudoir sessions are perfect for a fun girls party, a bachelorette party, anniversary or wedding gift, or a just because you’re you!! All sessions that are booked require a makeup artist and hair stylist and will be shot at a hotel of your choice. Just because you book a boudoir session does not mean that they’ll appear here on the blog. I have been given special permission to post these photos from the women. If you don’t want any of yours shown then I will keep them under lock and key:)

For my current rates, please email me!

And then there were four!

You may remember the Halbeisen family from the portrait session a few months back. They now have a new addition to their family and I had the great privilege of photographing baby Liv!! This is the first time the baby stayed asleep the ENTIRE time no matter what position we put her in. It was a very smooth shoot and I’m so happy to show these off to you guys!!
